Rabbi Nechemia says: How do we know that even one man is equal to all the work of the days of creation? Because it is said and written (Genesis, 5) "This is the book of the children of Adam [in the day that God created man, in the likeness of God he made him]", and further is said (Genesis, 2) "These are the generations of the heaven and of the earth when they were created, [in the day that the Lord God made earth and heaven]". The children of Adam and the creation of heaven and earth, both were given and written by God with the same words, Creation and Making. To teach us that they are equally important and the same.
